According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, in 2018, the 15,479 companies in the field achieved a turnover of nearly 200 billion euros and employed 433,579 employees.
The French agri-food sector is overwhelmingly made up of companies with fewer than 10 employees (79%). Large companies with more than 250 employees represent less than 2% of the companies in the sector.
